The Family Address Book
21 Jun 2009 08:28 PM
I have created and Family Address book, open only to the family, which will help us all keep in contact. Even although I may well know your contact details I will only add them if you drop me a note stating what you want included. I get the feeling the Christmas Card list is going to get longer this year!

A bit of Privacy
14 Jun 2009 08:22 PM
Today I split the site up slightly. To protect those who are stilli living, the Public tree excludes most of their information however they are still shown in their position in the tree.
There is now a private tree which is accessible via a username and password, showing all details. If you wish access to the full tree use the ‘Contact Me’ option on the left.
Note -- the public tree contains full details on all those who are deceased.

McIntyre/Kirkwood

I added a number of McIntyre’s and Kirkwood’s to the tree. They are related by the second marriage of Isabella McIntyre (David Jamieson then Robert Kirkwood). She was married to David for a short time, and had one child, David, before her husband died and she remarried Robert Kirkwood. She popped out several more children before she passed away herself, and Robert re-married. Clearly Strathaven was the place to be and have large families in those days!!
The American Link

Well it had to happen -- Jamieson’s off to America.
Every other family had someone jump on a ship in the early 1900’s so why not us. I’ve found my first family who went to the other side of ‘the pond’. They landed in New York in 1906 where they have been ever since. Johnson Jamieson, his lady wife Mary, and their children Helen and Mary made the crossing and a few years later they had a child, William, in New York.

The English Link

I’ve made a few more links in the Fiddaman side of the tree. It’s a lot of work doing the English side of it. Scotland is much easier with all the certificates online and ready to be downloaded instantly. So far for England I am relying on Census details to build a picture; waiting on paper copies of documents in so archaic (and costly)
